In 2003, Dr. Mazza earned her doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine from the leading center of natural health education, National College of Natural Medicine in Oregon. As a student she pioneered and coordinated the first medical outreach project for the homeless. In recognition of this accomplishment and her knowledge of naturopathic medicine, Dr. Mazza was awarded the Benedict Lust award. Her philanthropic and bilingual skills often leads her beyond the borders of the US where she volunteers in medical outreach projects in Peru and Nicaragua with the non profit organization Natural Doctors International
In California, Dr. Mazza is among the leaders in the advancement of naturopathic medicine by holding the prestigious position as Vice President and Legislative Chairperson of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association. She is often called upon to educate legislators, the department of health and the California Medical Association on the scope of training of ND's in the quest to fully integrate Naturopathic Medicine into the California healthcare system. Dr. Mazza is the first to serve as a naturopathic medical consultant for Whole Foods Market.
Dr. Mazza is currently in private practice in San Diego, CA specializing in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders and emotional and cognitive disorders. She utilizes custom formulated botanical medicine, orthomolecular medicine, German homeopathic drainage remedies, nutritional supplements and Bach flower remedies to heal the physical & emotional body.
